Becoming Shadow: A Triptych Exploration of Descent, Dissolve & Resurrection
This triptych exploration takes place through the Shadow Days of winter. Held between Solstice to Imbolc, we gather thrice to answer the call of the Darkest of Days. The call is of Persephone, Hecate, Old Mother Dark, Death Mother herself - she reaches out her entrancing hand and seduces us to drink in the Night, lay down with the composting leaves, die to what was, only that we might reach the ecstasy of nothingness, and then be born anew come spring.
Through funerary rites, revelry and rage, we come to know the endless dance of tragedy and comedy and the freedom that ensues when handing over the wheel of life to the Gods who know too well the cycles of life, death and rebirth.
We will move with shadows, find stillness, then quiver and fall into the whirling arms of Midnight. We will weep at our own feet to grieve, honor and celebrate the forever-changing Self. Community holds us in kind witness to these tender and potent stories of descent, dissolve and resurrection.
