MISOGI / COLD WATER IMMERSION

Misogi Shuho is an ancient Japanese exercise used to increase mental fortitude, intuition and physical health. The spiritual view behind Misogi is to purify the body, mind, and spirit from obscuring energies that occlude your intrinsic Brightness. We can have this experience by the energetic nature of water, the cold, and the unmediated experience with Nature. Ideally we practice Misogi in a River, Waterfall or Ocean. We can also douse with buckets of water and use ice baths and showers. Recently popularized by the Wim Hof Method, Misogi Shuho is a powerful and ceremonial alternative to experience the benefits of cold water immersion that utilizes centuries old techniques that increase its overall effectiveness. Using breathwork, physical exercises and vocally activated words, we can bring the body, mind and spirit to its most alive state as we plunge into the cold to imprint that aliveness deep into our-Selves.

Individual and group lessons are available. Although the traditional Misogi practice is recommended, the techniques can be customized for the needs of the practitioner.

Individual Misogi/Cold Water Immersions sessions cost $100* or $300 for up to 6 people and take place in person or over zoom . Sessions run 90 minutes.

*please be in touch if the cost is a financial hardship to you as I offer several concessionary spots per week to keep my work accessible.
