ORGANIC FARMING: Mentoring and Farm/Garden Prep
Produce grown in nutrient-rich soil without chemical inputs are not only healthier for you, but better for the environment and future generations.
For 10 years, Nico & Ryan ran Golden Well Sanctuary - an organic farm which included a 50 person CSA and sales at several farmers markets and local shops. Now in Brooklyn, they are eager to connect to local gardeners and rooftop farmers to share their knowledge and enthusiasm for organic and regenerative growing practices.
Their growing practices include crop rotation, minimal tilling, and biointensive growing. Nico & Ryan strive to go beyond organic as they work with regenerative practices that bring more life and resilience to the soil. They work with the ecosystem to maintain and encourage natural diversity and are also passionate about helping folks develop a personal relationship with the land.
Mentoring for Organic Farming costs $100*/hour for up to 3 participants. Sessions are seasonal and travel time will be charged for in person meetings. We are also available for larger private classes including school groups.
*please be in touch if the cost is a financial hardship to you as we offer several concessionary spots per week to keep our work accessible.

With over 40 years combined experience in homesteading and organic vegetable farming, Nico and Ryan have a deep respect for what it takes to grow good food. Through wwoof , running on-farm apprenticeship programs and school groups, the couple has over ten years of experience mentoring aspiring gardeners and farmers.
In 2012, Nico and her husband Ryan founded Golden Well Sanctuary - a retreat and regenerative farm in central Vermont devoted to re-potentiating our relationship with the living Earth through cultivating deeper and more meaningful connections between Nature, Spirit, Self and Community. After selling their farm in the spring of 2021, the couple moved to the wilds of Brooklyn, NY where they have transitioned their work to School of Liminal Arts - a platform to house not only their offerings, but to expand into more creative collaborations. They look forward to growing on rooftops and backyards and educating people about how to grow nutrient-dense food that’s good for the body and the planet.
